Job Title Training & Development Manager - EMEA -
Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior HR Manager to be will be the primary liaison for EMEA Operations PDP planning while executing key events and processes and supporting participants from the UK, Ireland, Germany, and Netherlands annually.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute PDP events in concert with vendors, stakeholders and participants. At this time, events include:
    • New Hire Orientation (July)
    • Area PDP Week (October)
    • Area report out session (April)
  • Plan and execute core PDP processes to ensure efficient delivery and evaluation of each PDP rotation. At this time, core processes include:
    • Works closely with TA to define recruitment strategy on hiring of PDP participants
    • Partners with BHR for hiring of PDP participants, onboarding, performance evaluations, program report outs, merit increase, and off-program placement
    • Partners with Talent Deployment to coordinate processing of residence and work visas and relocation logistics for PDP participants on global assignment
    • Assist PDP participants with travel reservations and reimbursement for PDP-related events
    • Manages the implementation of rotational and assignment planning processes
    • Procures assignment descriptions from assignment managers and manages the assignment procurement and matching process with PDP participants
    • Partners with BHR to procure mentors and ensure that PDP participants have dedicated mentors throughout the duration of the program
    • Partners with assignment managers and mentors to provide coaching on performance and development planning for PDP participants
    • Partners with PDP participants and assignment managers to complete end-of-rotation performance reviewsfor participants
    • Manages annual merit approval process and related communications for PDP participants
    • Manages personnel transactions in Workday
    • Ensures PDP participants comply with Abbott policies and procedures
  • Plan and execute critical PDP program tasks. At this time, critic al tasks include:
    • Manages and communicates program expectations to Operations leaders, BHR, assignment managers, and mentors in EMEA through regular email communications and conference calls
    • Maintains budget for EMEA and communicates variances monthly
    • Works with BHR and Finance to ensure that PDP-related expenses are charged back to U.S.-based budget
    • Supervise vendor invoice completion through Talent Development (TD) Operations
    • Check in with key stakeholders weekly, bi-weekly or monthly (e.g., Area PDP Managers, PDP volunteer groups, Operations Recruiter) as needed to assess program effectiveness and meet needs of stakeholders
    • Plan, execute, and aggregate multiple surveys and focus groups; communicate data
    • Maintain and update various tools and systems (e.g. PDP Portal, Workday)
    • Maintains and reports data on headcount, assignment types, full-time conversions, etc.
    • Presents program updates to Operations leaders and BHR in planned sessions
Position Accountability:

  • Reports to Senior Manager, Operations PDP
  • Helps Director and Senior Manager set vision and strategy for the program and align with business needs
  • Works across TD Operations to maintain budget, invoices and to organize and deliver training to PDP participants, assignment managers, and mentors
  • Works with and supports counterparts to Senior Manager: Area PDP Managers (EMEA, Americas), IT & Finance PDP Managers, and Operations PDP Director
  • Procures Senior Leaders and works with their administrators to ensure participation in events
  • Works with vendors (training, housing, etc.) to procure, plan and pay for services

Education:

Bachelor degree from an accredited university required; Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, or related discipline preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • 10-12 years of human resource experience, with a minimum 5 years of direct involvement with talent management review/succession planning
  • Expertise in career development and experience with training and program coordination preferred.
  • Fluency in English language required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially with Excel, Power Point, and Word required
  • Experience creating and delivering executive presentations preferred
  • Demonstrated project management experience in a matrixed organization preferred
  • Experience working in a corporate center of excellence talent team (e.g., TA, TD, Talent Management) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and administer processes; aggregate and make sense of data; build reciprocal relationships and focus on customers; manage multiple priorities
  • Critical capabilities include project management and execution; strategic thinking; technology and data management; change management; attention to detail; people management and development; verbal and written communication skills
