Job Title Retail Buyer
Description

My client,one of Munster's leading Agri-Retail organisations is currently seeking a Retail Buyer to join their team in Cork to manage the strategic planning, negotiation and implementation of their purchasing plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source new suppliers whilst maintaining relationships with existing suppliers
  • Achieve sales and profitability targets through supplier relationships
  • Ensure margin enhancement through marketing, free goods etc
  • Manage Stock Inventory includingbudgets and plans for stock levels
  • Develop an Annual Business Plan and a Joint Business Plan with suppliers in order to deliver increased sales and profit
  • Monitor and report on any supplier shortages/issues
  • Benchmark and carry out price comparisons through competitor tracking and market trend analysis
  • Negotiate with suppliers on cost price
  • Carry out stock checks to ensure service level issues are minimised
  • Report and feedback to the Head of Buying
  • Monitor and implement procedures, policies and controls

the successful candidate will possess a degree or recognised qualification in Purchasing/Business. You will have a proven track record in a similar role relating to retail buying and will possess strong knowledge into the Category Management function. You will have the ability to increase sales through effective category management practices, whilst working to stock budgets. You will be IT literate, numerate and will be willing to travel as required.
